Ranch
Located just 15
minutes Northeast of San Angelo, Texas just 2 miles off of Highway
67 on Tennyson Road, it is easy to find with excellent roads to
the Ranch. We are directly east of the Goodyear Test Track about 5
miles or so.
Crows Nest Creek
runs through the eastern part of the Ranch, other than that we are
surrounded mostly by pasture land, one small ranch and what used
to be the Webster Ranch a 25 section ranch with plenty of cover.
We provide ample
water for our wildlife in part of the creek year round using a
timed pumping system Most creeks in this area will dry up
from the first week of November until the end of January.
The land has been in the CRP program for the last 20 years and has
been planted with wildlife mix to boost the wildlife population.
We have also been feeding since July with five feeders placed
strategically around the ranch. The deer are feeding well at
all feeders. More and more turkey are visiting the feeders they
roost just across the fence on the western border. Several turkeys
have been harvested this year.
Our CRP land has
some mesquite about 4' - 5' high and the grass is tall enough for
a full grown deer to pass through without detection, both
provide cover for the deer while passing through or feeding.
The Kline, Williams Grass and Giant Bermuda grasses provide
an excellent habitat for quail. The deer love to come out of
the cover at dawn and dusk to feed and water on our ranch. I
have counted as many as 60 crossing the fence at one time.
The creek provides excellent cover and the deer have been
using it for a nursery to raise their fawns for quite some time.
We had about 6 that I counted this year.
This second season
in business we are offering 2 Day Hunts Only at $400.00 per hunter
with FREE LODGING.
Reservations are
required but we have plenty of days available. We
require a $200.00 non-refundable advance deposit to reserve a day.
