White-tailed Deer
 | Archery Only:
October 2-November 5, 2010. No permit required to hunt
antlerless deer unless MLD
permits have been issued for the property. |
 | Bag Limit: 5 deer,
no more than 2 bucks, all seasons combined.
General Season:
November 6, 2010-January 2, 2011.
Special Late General Season:
January 3-16, 2011 (antlerless and spike buck deer only). |
 | Special Youth-Only Season:
Early open season: October 30-31, 2010. Late open season:
January 3-16, 2011.
Bag limits, provision for the take of
antlerless deer, and special requirements of the county, shall
be as specified for the first 2 days of the general open
season.
Licensed hunters 16 years of age or
younger may hunt deer by any lawful means during this season. |
Javelina:
Open Season: October 1-February 24.
Bag Limit: 2.
Squirrel:
No closed season. No bag limit.
Turkey
The annual bag limit for Rio Grande and
Eastern turkey, in the aggregate for all counties, is four (4),
no more than one of which may be an Eastern turkey. For counties
that have an Eastern Turkey spring season, there is no fall
season.

Archery Only:
October 2-November 5, 2010.
Special youth-only (general)
fall turkey season: October 30-31, 2010, and January 15-16,
2011. Only licensed hunters 16 years of age or younger may
hunt turkey during this season. Bag limit as specified by the
general fall turkey season. |

Rio Grande turkey:
Open season: April 3-May 16, 2010 (gobblers only).
Special Youth-Only (Rio
Grande turkey): Open season: March 27-28 and May
22-23, 2010. |
Pronghorn:
Open Season: October 2-10, 2010.
By permit only.
Quail:
Statewide: Open
season: October 30, 2010-February 27, 2011. Daily bag limit: 15
Possession limit: 45
Dove:

no more than 2 white-tipped (white-fronted doves). The possession
limit on white-tipped doves is twice the daily bag limit |
Where to Get Information and Licenses
Recreational hunting and fishing licenses and stamp endorsements
are available at over 2,000 locations throughout the state in addition
to the offices listed below. These locations include sporting goods
stores, gun shops, department stores, discount stores, bait and tackle
shops, grocery stores, and many other types of stores. Some commercial
hunting and fishing licenses are available ONLY from the offices
listed below and at the Austin Headquarters.
